We\u2019ll also organise something so they don\u2019t get bored<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If we don\u2019t know your partner yet, please let us know<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We\u2019re expecting around 200 guests, so we need to know who\u2019s coming\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please let us know by 16 August 2026 if you can\u2019t make it \u2013 otherwise we\u2019ll be counting on you!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How will the wedding go?<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We plan to hold the wedding in both German and Turkish. It\u2019s possible that Turkish will be spoken more often at times, but not during important announcements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feel free to get the party started before we arrive \u2013 traditionally with a Turkish halay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We\u2019ll be arriving between 6.30 and 7.00 pm, and shortly afterwards we\u2019ll (finally) open the buffet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There won\u2019t be a traditional seating plan; seats will only be reserved for the immediate family<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wait, what is a \u2018halay\u2019?<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It\u2019s the traditional Turkish way of dancing in a group, hand-in-hand, where everyone is equal and can and should dance with everyone else<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s not a standardised dance; there are many variations depending on the region and ethnicity \u2013 but the basis is often the same sequence of steps \u2013 you can learn them here: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/fw4DAAcCeMA?t=580\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/fw4DAAcCeMA?t=580<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The style of the Halay is determined by the first person in the line and the music<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What\u2019s on the menu?<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the evening, a buffet awaits you, where all guests should find something to their taste \u2013 including vegetarians and vegans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There will also be a midnight snack to keep you going<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have any other allergies or dietary restrictions, please do let us know and we\u2019ll see what we can do<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gifts, gifts, gifts&#8230;<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We\u2019re naturally delighted that you\u2019re celebrating with us and grateful for every gift you bring! However, we do have some preferences:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Money is always welcome \u2013 especially as we\u2019re setting up our first home together. Money and gold would also be traditional \u2013 but with the rise in the price of gold, we think it\u2019s easier for both you and us to simply opt for cash<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please no flowers or plants, as these wilt too quickly and transport on the day would be too difficult<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We\u2019d also prefer not to receive household goods or decorations, as we either already own these or would like to choose them ourselves for the flat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Is there a dress code?<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not really: just dress however you like \u2013 feel free to be colourful!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I\u2019d like to leave early \u2013 how should I say goodbye?<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Feel free to do \u2018the Polish\u2019 \u2013 that is, to leave without saying goodbye.
